General Information

A visa is an endorsement on a passport or travel document by a consular officer indicating that the holder may be permitted to enter and stay in the Philippines for a specified period. However, it is not a guarantee that the holder will be admitted into the country as visa holders are still subject to normal immigration control at the port of entry. The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is principally responsible for the administration and enforcement of immigration, citizenship, and alien admission and registration laws in accordance with the provisions of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.

International inbound travelers are required to register with the eArrival CARD within 72 hours prior departure at the country of origin to avoid inconvenience upon arrival.

For those who would like to apply for a Philippine visa, the Consular Section of the Embassy is open from Monday to Friday, from 0900H to 1700H, except on Myanmar and Philippine holidays. No appointment needed.

1. The Embassy will not expedite the visa processing to accommodate the applicant's flight schedule and refund the visa application fee if the visa is issued later than the applicant's flight schedule or if the visa application is denied. Please plan accordingly. Visa applicants are only to book their flights after the visa has been issued.
2. The Visa Officer may request for additional documents in support of the visa application.
3. The issuance of a visa by the Embassy is not a guarantee that the holder will be admitted into the PH. Admission of aliens is a function of the PH Immigration authorities at the point of entry. Hence, they have the FINAL decision on whether to admit a foreigner intending to enter the PH.
4. Application for a visa should be made at least 30 days before date of departure to allow sufficient time for processing of required documents. There is no expedited processing for visa applications.
